Biography
Pedro A. Jose, MD, PhD, is Professor of Medicine and Physiology, George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences. He received an MD degree (magna cum laude, meritissimus, University of Santo Tomas, Philippines, placed first in the Philippine National Board Examinations) and a PhD degree in Physiology (dissertation defended with distinction) from Georgetown University. His publications (>380) have been cited more than 8,500 times. He has received several academic awards, e.g., 2003 Lewis K. Dahl Memorial Lecture, 2007 Ernest H. Starling Lecture, 2015 Excellence Award for Hypertension Research, and an NIH MERIT Award. He holds two US patents related to BP.
